Use Generic Xenical (Orlistat) reduces the amount of fat absorbed into the body. This is a medication to help people who are serious about losing weight for their health to reduce problems such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease and diabetes. Dosage The recommended dose is one capsule by mouth with liquid at each main meal. You should use Generic Xenical together with a nutritionally balanced, mildly reduced-calorie diet that contains no more than about 30 percent of calories from fat. Side effects of Generic Xenical Side effects generally occur within the first few weeks of treatment but tend to subside later in the treatment phase. These may include oily spotting, gas with discharge, oily or fatty stools and increased number of bowel movements. These side effects indicate that the medicine is working and only occur early on in treatment or after a high fat meal. Precautions People should not use Generic Xenical if they consistently have problems absorbing food (chronic malabsorption); or have gallbladder problems; or are pregnant or are breastfeeding a child; or have ever had an allergic reaction to orlistat or any of the inactive ingredients in Xenical. Xenical must be used in conjunction with a recommended mildly reduced-calorie diet. You should also follow a program of regular physical activity, such as walking. However, before you undertake any activity or exercise program, be sure to speak with your doctor or health care professional. |
