Use
Generic Avandia is used with other medications to treat type 2 diabetes whose conditions is not controlled by diet and exercise. It works by increasing the body's cell sensitivity to insulin. Generic Avandia can not be used for the treatment of type 1 diabetes as the medication does not contain insulin.

Dosage
It can up to 6 weeks to see a drop in blood glucose levels to drop using Generic Avandia and may take up to 12 weeks for the maximum benefits to be achieved. One Generic Avandia tablet is usually taken once or twice daily. Your doctor will prescribe the correct dosage for your condition. Do not take more than the prescribed dosage of this medication as there is an increased possibility of unwanted side effects occurring. Do not stop taking Generic Avandia without consulting your doctor or medical professional as it is likely to be detrimental to your long-term well-being.

Side effects
Taking Generic Avandia does not usually result in the patient experiencing side effects. However some people may experience sinus or respiratory infection, headache, back pain, diarrhea, tiredness, weight gain.

Precautions
You are strongly advised to talk to your doctor about the symptoms for hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) and hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). These conditions that diabetics need to be aware of and can severely affect your health if the symptoms are not identified early and treatment undertaken. Taking Generic Avandia alongside other medications can cause serious side effects. You need to tell your doctor if you are currently taking any other medication, including homeopathic medications. In particular your doctor ill want to know if are taking insulin, or any other medications for type 2 diabetes. You must also tell your doctor if you have ever taken troglitazone (Rezulin). If you have had a history of heart failure, liver disease, high cholesterol, fluid retention or alcohol abuse then talk to your doctor about whether you have the right medication or the right dosage for your condition.
