Use
Suminat Tablets are for the treatment of migraine headaches. The reasons why migraines occur is not completely known, however it is thought to related to blood vessels contracting and expanding. Suminat works by thinning blood vessels and activating serotonin receptors in the brain. Serotonin is an important chemical for normal brain functioning. It is believed that serotonin levels drop dramatically in people having a migraine attack.
Dosage
You should only use Suminat tablets as directed by your doctor. Suminat works best if you take it at the first signs of the onset of a migraine headache. Typically, 1 tablet will be taken for the treatment of migraine symptoms. However, your may approve a second tablet if the symptoms of the migraine persist. The second tablets must not be taken within 2 hours of taking the first tablet. Under no circumstances should take more than 200mg of Suminat in a 24 hour period.
Side effects
Side effects from taking this medicating can occur. You may experience

- nausea
- drowsiness or dizziness
- tingling sensations
Others may experience more serious reactions to taking this medication. If you experience any of the following symptoms after taking Suminat tablets you should stop taking the tablets and seek medical attention:
- difficulty breathing
- swollen lips, tongue or face
- severe, prolonged chest pains or an irregular heartbeat
- chest, jaw or neck pain
- vision problems
- unusual weakness or numbness
Precautions
Suminat can cause drowsiness. You are advised to take extreme care operating vehicles or machinery after taking Suminat.
Taking Suminat alongside other medications, including homeopathic medications, can be dangerous. Do not take Suminat within 14 days of using an MAO Inhibitor medication such as Marplan, Parnate or Nardil. Also, do not use a MAO Inhibitor within 14 days of using Suminat. Tell you doctor if you are currently taking any other medications, in particular citalopram, escitalopram, fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, paroxetine or sertraline as these medications interact with the effectiveness of Suminat.
Do not use Suminat alongside any other migraine headache medication.
