Generic Avodart as a Hair Loss Treatment
Duprost is Generic Avodart, a specific inhibitor of both the type 1 and type 2 isoforms of 5-alpha reductase (5AR), an intracellular enzyme that converts testosterone to 5-alpha dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is the androgen primarily responsible for androgenetic alopecia. Generic Avodart has been shown to be a powerful supressor of DHT and a very good treatment for hair loss.
Generic Avodart Dosage and Administration
The recommended dose of Generic Avodart for treating BPH is one capsule (0.5 mg) taken orally once a day. Each Generic Avodart capsule should be swallowed whole. Published dosages are only available for treating BPH, however the effective dose for treating male pattern baldness also appears to be 0.5mg daily.
Generic Avodart Side Effects
The side effects of of Generic Avodart are fewer and less sever than those encountered with Finasteride. Recent studies have shown Generic Avodart to produce very few side effects. Low incidences of erectile dysfunction, decreased libido, and breast tenderness have been reported.
