What Is Prosmin?

Prosmin is the generic equivalent of Proscar. Prosmin is used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia in men, however in lower doses Prosmin is used to treat hairloss or Male Pattern Baldness.

Prosmin Dosage

Prosmin must be divided into quarters to be used to treat hair loss. The 5mg dosage is indicated for bengin prostatic hyperplasia.

Prosmin is NOT recommended if you are female. Prosmin is contraindicated in women when they are or may potentially be pregnant. Women should not handle crushed or broken Prosmin tablets when they are pregnant or may potentially be pregnant because of the possibility of absorption of finasteride and the subsequent potential risk to a male fetus. Prosmin tablets are coated and will prevent contact with the active ingredient during normal handling, provided that the tablets have not been broken or crushed. Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with Prosmin. Inform your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. Tell your doctor if you have or have had any medical conditions or if you have any allergies to any other medicines or any other substances, such as foods, preservatives or dyes. If you have not told your doctor about any of the above, tell them before you take any Prosmin. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, allergies, or pregnancy.
