Duprost is 0.5mg Dustasteride. It is the generic equivilant of Avodart. Duprost is made in India by Cipla. It is supplied in blister strips of 10 0.5mg capsules, each capsule is individually sealed. There are 10 stips (100 capsules) per box.

Description
Dutasteride is a synthetic 4-azasteroid compound that is a competitive and specific inhibitor of both the type 1 and type 2 isoforms of steroid 5-alpha reductase (5AR), an intracellular enzyme that converts testosterone to 5-alpha dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is the androgen primarily responsible for the initial development and subsequent enlargement of the prostate gland. The type 2 isoenzyme is primarily active in the reproductive tissues while the type 1 isoenzyme is also responsible for testosterone conversion in the skin and liver.

Indications
Duprost is indicated for the treatment of symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate.

Dosage and Administration
The recommended dose of Duprost is 1 capsule (0.5 mg) taken orally once a day. The capsule should be swallowed whole. Duprost may be administered with or without food
