Use
Detrusitol is a commonly used medication for the treatment bladder control problems and to control the frequent need to urinate. Detrusitol works by preventing bladder contraction.
Dosage
Tablets are usually taken twice daily, but you are advised to take Detrusitol only as directed by your doctor or medical professional.
Side effects
Although side effects can occur from taking Detrusitol, they are in most cases considered rare or uncommon. However, you may experience:
- dry mouth
- blurred vision
- upset stomach
- headache
- constipation
- dry eyes
- dizziness
Other more serious side effects may also occur. You are advised to contact your doctor immediately if you have difficulty urinating, develop a rash on skin or experience chest pains.
Precautions
Combining Detrusitol with other medications, including homeopathic remedies, can cause serious or unwanted side effects. You should tell your doctor if your are taking any other medications, especially if your are taking clarithromycin, erythromycin, fluconazole, itraconazole, ketoconazole or any medicines for glaucoma or vitamin supplements.
If you have a history of kidney or liver disease, glaucoma, or obstructive gastrointestinal disease you should talk to your doctor about whether Detrusitol is right for your condition.
